Description:
- Children will love creating a sketchbook bursting with colour and design! Taking inspiration from floral artists and natural forms, children will learn a range of techniques to create flower compositions using both observational and imaginative designs. Watercolour, pencil, coloured pencil, pastel and pen will all be used in these mixed media masterpieces. Each page will explore a different style and skill with different scales and layering techniques. At the end of the workshop children will take home their sketchbooks and leave with ideas on how to further develop their designs independently.

- Introduction and demonstration, looking at visual aids and real flowers
- Initial start using watercolour paints and different washes for each page
- Demonstrations into observational and imaginative drawing techniques
- Look at different composition examples for children to use in their own designs
- Working on layering and working on top of watercolour washes to create depth
- Final look over the work
- Workshop is appropriate for kids from 6 - 12 years old.
