Jesmonite For Beginners

Jesmonite Workshop

This Introduction to Jesmonite workshop is perfect for beginners looking to try out an award-winning product. This water-based material is enjoying its moment in the design spotlight as artists use it to create all sorts of stunning homeware. It is nontoxic, water-based 2 part resin that dries to an opaque stone-like finish and is safe to work with  and as well as environmentally conscious (in comparison to resin or fiberglass)
Jesmonite can be used to replicate the appearance and texture of any surface finish, and even the finest of detail. It is strong and durable, can be pigmented to any color, and used to create decorative surface effects. It is often used as a lightweight alternative to stone and concrete. It has become an increasingly popular material widely used by artists, designers, and prop-makers.
Join artist Sanaa Merchant and learn how to cast the famous Pollock style making your own design palette and color scheme. Learn how to mix the 2 components, know all the dos and don'ts of the product, and finally add pigments to the Jesmonite and cast them into the base.
Duration of workshop:  Approx 2.5 hours (a break of 45 minutes during the setting process of Jesmonite)

The participants will get to work with one trinket tray and a coaster each.
