Lippan Art Workshop

What is Lippan art?

Lippan Art - Lippan Kaam also as known as Clay mirror work is an art form that originates from Kutch, in Gujarat, Western India. It is a traditional mural craft of Kutch. 

This workshop is programmed to use new Modern Techniques to create Rural Lippan art. You'll create different textures and patterns, explore your creativity, get introduced to the magic of mirrors and create your own style.

 

Workshop outline: 

  • Brief on history of Lippan art
  • Demonstration of the techniques, creating different textures and patterns
  • Participants will explore their creative side, and compose their own Lippan design
  • Interacting with mud to create the final work
  • Explore the creative process of mirror

 

By the end of the session, the students will go home with a Wall Mural of Lippan art.
